How to Salsa

Salsa is a dance for those who wants to move elegantly, to get self-belief, be flexible and skillful. Salsa originates in Spain with a meaning « sauce» a spicy dancing flavor to all in a days work. The movements of salsa have origins in cuban songs, mambo, and other dance forms, and the dance, along with the salsa music,originated in the mid-1970s in New York. In many styles of salsa dancing a dancer shifts their weight by stepping, the upper body remains level and nearly unaffected by the weight changes. Weight shifts cause hips to move. Arm and shoulder movements are also incorporated.
Women prefer a skirt or trousers and shoes or jazz shoes for the classes while men like classical shoes , trousers and a shirt.
